Home Cinema Soundproofing
These days Cinema experiences have improved dramatically especially with new technological advancements in Videography, Audio, projection technology, 3D, Acoustics and soundproofing. With such developments in the Audio through speaker improvements, increasement of speaker array systems for more immersive surround sound then so has the over all loudness and power output as well as the throw of the sound wave emissions produced by the speakers within the cinema auditorium spaces.

In the primary starting stages, we can adopt the cladding method, room-in-room or the shell. They all have different pros and cons depending on the circumstanced of the cinema original build.
Typical for our lead Acoustic Consultant Mr N Nelson here @ Soundproofing & Acoustics we prefer to use the Shell Method, which is what we shall be focusing on in this page.

So that we don’t give all of our soundproofing secrets away we are not going to go into too much detail in the next stages so we will just touch on the next stage briefly; which is the isolation stage.
By Isolation we mean the materials that are the bulk of the materials to isolate the interior space of the Cinema to the outside world. This is typically the aspect of the work that causes the most problems for people as almost all contractors, consultants and specialist have the mindset that rockwool and gypsum board is all that is required to soundproof a cinema. If you were to follow these steps you will ultimately end up with failure of containment and noise transmission between cinema halls and other cinema halls as well as nearby areas outside the cinemas. So in cases where the Cinemas in Singapore are built with tenants below, above and beside this can be a massive problem in noise pollution if the build is done wrong.
