According to the NEA requirement guidelines the noise level for residential dwellings must not exceed 55 dB(A) from 10pm – 7am.
In many cases the result of a Noise Assessment Survey show that the requirement may need to be higher than 55 dB(A) because of the before and after noise level.
Often lesser experienced Noise Control companies will miss this extremely important factor and at the end of the project argue that they have done their job well as it was within the requirement.
This then leave the police, club and complainant in a difficult situation.
The purpose of the guidelines is to set a standard as a bench mark to work from, thereafter Acousticians shall follow standard principles of noise control and thus formulate the amount noise reduction that is required.
